OAAS (Office of Design and Research for Appropriate Aesthetic)

A Bangkok-based architectural design studio founded by Sirakit Charoenkitpisut and Sineenart Suptanon.

The studio brings together experience in commercial-scale thinking and detail-driven residential architecture-operating between large systems and human experience.

We work across multiple layers simultaneously, developing building massing, spatial strategies, and technical systems in parallel with interior scale, materiality, and detail.

Rather than separating the overall from the particular, architecture is approached as a continuous process, carrying the logic of the project from system to detail, arriving at what we define as an “Appropriate Aesthetic”, grounded in context, constraint, and intent.

Each project begins with an open reading of context, constraints, and intent. What is unknown is investigated rigorously; decisions are informed rather than assumed. Architecture is developed through exchange, in close collaboration with clients, engineers, and builders, testing ideas, responding to constraints, and advancing the work through an iterative process.
